Topic: Offensive spells and honor

I was thinking offensive thief actions and spells should be included in the honor calculations.  With powerful spells such as tornado, its possible for large villages to really inflict some cheap damage on smaller players without worry of honor, and on the other note its possible for a small village to harass larger villages knowing they cannot use military to retaliate.

There are 10 types of people in the world.  Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Light a man a fire and keep him warm for a night, light a man on fire and keep him warm for the rest of his life.

Re: Offensive spells and honor

I would love to see the probability of a spell backfiring (being cast on the casting village) increase dramatically with an increase difference in honor.  That would be a lot of fun to watch.

7 x 13 = 28

Re: Offensive spells and honor

I'm thinking that wizards may somehow hold the solution to the big vs. small player issue.  If spells cost less for small players attacking large players than small players attacking other small players, and significantly less than when large players attack large or small players, then we have incentivized (at least partially) smaller players attacking larger ones.  Further, if spell effects decrease at some rate with size increases, and the base level (pre-decrease) is especially high, then smaller players may be inclined to attack larger ones and inflict as much damage as possible.

My argument would be that there is a finite amount of "Magic" in an area, and that such magic decreases as a village grows and becomes more industrialized.

But... Magic?

I have some sort of unnatural fascination with the magic system... I am not sure if I like this hmm

Just curious if this is something being considered.  As it stands wizards/thieves can really just circumvent the honor system but still inflict as much or more damage than conventional attacks.

Yea, it is being considered. Actually, I agree with what you're saying.
So all I need is Vilmore's approval and time to implement it.
